I arrived in the United States just under a decade ago from Shanghai, China. I attended the University of San Francisco, where I graduated with a bachelor's in business. From there, I went to New York City's Baruch College to study for my masters in accountancy. I worked for the language department as a program assistant. My role was to register students for the Chinese proficiency test, the HSK. Throughout my college career, I tutored many students in Mandarin Chinese. I taught them not only to speak the language, but to understand the culture. I'm currently working with PricewaterhouseCoopers as a Certified Public Accountant. However, I couldn't give up tutoring. I volunteer at New York's public schools regularly to continue teaching. When I tutor students in Mandarin Chinese, I provide a variety of materials to make it more engaging. I use tests, quizzes, skits, and dialogues to make learning the language fun. For those who want to learn enough Chinese to make it during a trip to China, I offer independent tutoring to ensure a relaxing vacation. Tutoring is one of several hobbies that I enjoy. I am addicted to movies. I love shopping, photography, traveling, and writing in both Chinese and English.
